A recent version is best. AutoCAD LT works well for 2D drawing too. Tell us what you have when you inquire and we'll confirm it's suitable.
Will my DXF files work in VCarve, Aspire or other CAM software?
That's the aim of the final modules: clean, closed geometry at the right scale, exported in a DXF version your CAM software accepts.
